Originally a cinema chain operated by the Downs family, their first venture into bingo was at the Mossley Empire. Due to its success and capacity issues, the company then made the decision to transfer the bingo business to Market St in Stalybridge. These premises have undergone numerous extensions and modifications with the most recent being in 2000. Longstanding Manager Keith Lee has been at the helm here.
Its sister club in Eccles was one of the first to open in the UK. Palladium bingo as it was known opened as a bingo club in 1962 and was operated by the Donaldson family until Cosmo bought the business in 1988. During the Donaldson era, the Manager was Gilbert Simpson for much of the time.
