Starting in 1937, the company was initially under the leadership of J Arthur Rank who stepped down as MD in 1952 but remained chairman until 1962.

Such iconic brands as Pinewood Studios, Butlins Holidays, Hard Rock, Haven Holidays, Rank Xerox, Mecca Bingo, Top Rank Bingo, Grosvenor Casino’s have all been owned managed and promoted by The Rank Group from their headquarters in Maidenhead.
Since 2006 the group has condensed and focused more on its gaming operation and has disposed of all of its other interests. Leaving the Group with over 50 Grosvenor UK Casinos (2 in Belgium) over 90 Mecca Bingo Clubs (10 Enracha in Spain) and an online Betting and Gaming Platform. Rank now is the largest Casino operator in the United Kingdom.
